Rules of Conduct

Shenzhen Library is a public place where users visit to read, select materials, request information from staff, and attend programs. It’s our users’ responsibility to build up public awareness, and maintain a quiet and pleasant environment.

1.
Abide by the public order, follow the Rules of conduct and management of the library and the staff’s instructions.
2.
Protect and respect for intellectual property, photocopying reasonably and handle all library materials with care, take no more than two items from the shelves at a time and return them to the designated area after you have read them.
3.
Wear the appropriate and neat attire in the library, behave properly, do not occupy seats by personal belongings; no smoking, eating and drinking in the library; pets, dangerous goods are prohibited in the library.
4.
Take care of your personal belongings. Bags and other personal items can be kept in the deposit boxes.。
5.
Please keep quiet, switch off mobile phones and other communication devices or set them at the quiet mode in the library.
6.
Handle all library materials and facilities with care. You will have to pay the cost of the item lost or damaged according to the laws and regulations.
7.
Be familiar with fire passage way after entering the library. In case of emergency, library users will be evacuated following the staff’s instructions.
8.
Public library is a place created for the benefit of the public cultural welfare, ads or selling merchandise are prohibited in the library.
9.
Readers under 14 may use the children's service area.
10.
Visitors in group should make a visit appointment with the library office in advance.
